Hi, there. I’m Katherine…
I work to help empower individuals and their families by aiding them in the rediscovery of who they are at their core, their true self. I strive to provide people with a tailored and very individual healing experience through reiki and shamanic healing. My passion is assisting others in remembering their purpose and deeply heal: personal wounds, ancestral wounds, generational dysfunction, and in turn their descendants. My western education background is in Latin American and Women's Studies as well as Marriage and Family Therapy. This formal education helps guide my spiritual work.
I spent most of my life deeply feeling the emotions of others,
being attuned to the energies that others put off and being deeply affected by what was going on around me.
As my life continued to transform and I was healed and continue to heal at a deeply profound level, I felt it my purpose to share this healing with the world.
I started to take learning everything I could about energy medicine very seriously. I studied reiki and energy medicine principals during a year long mentorship experience with a talented reiki master teacher. I also began taking Shamanism classes from Lightsong School of 21st Century Shamanism and Energy Medicine. Each of these experiences taught me more about mastering my own energy and understanding the energy around me. Through my studies and my experiences, I quickly began to discover a talent that I believe is hidden within each and every one of us. As I started to work with the public, I got to witness others finding this hidden talent within, transforming themselves, their lives, and their communities.
Having the opportunity to witness my own transformation and the transformation of my clients and students, I have made sharing these healing modalities my mission.
Teaching others how to walk in their power and their truth by remembering their divinity, their true selves has become my purpose.
I never felt like I truly fit in and often struggled to connect with others, feeling that many of the interactions I had on a daily basis lacked substance. I pursued a degree in marriage and family therapy as a way to understand myself, my family, and the world I was a part of. While the study of human behavior, relationship patterns, substance abuse and mental health disorders increased my understanding, I still felt as though something was missing.
When I was pregnant with my daughter, I remember feeling disconnected and unrecognized for the changes my body was going through, for the deep inner changes I was going through.
Little did I know, I was preparing to be birthed right alongside my daughter. While deep in a day dream I saw the letters R-E-I-K-I. I decided to turn to google to learn more. As I typed in the letters, I wondered what would come up as I had never heard of reiki or energy medicine. I was amazed at what I learned as I read about reiki, energy, the laws of energy, and how reiki worked. I was in disbelief and needed to see this truth for myself. I scheduled a session and my life was transformed. I had images of other lifetimes, images of my ancestors, of Ireland, and for the first time in my life I felt at peace, like I had found my home. By my second session I had reached out to someone who was doing attunements, I wanted to learn how to do this for myself.
In addition to my purpose and passion as a healer, I am a devoted wife and mother.
I am committed to breaking dysfunctional cycles within the family life and love teaching my children about nature, about energy, and about kindness.
I love to travel to far away places, hike beautiful mountains, run to feel my feet hit the earth and ground me, and adventure whenever possible.
I am deeply in love with plants and trees, getting to know their spirits as allies is a favorite personal pastime. I am deeply connected to my marriage and family life and strive to live a balanced and high vibrational life.
I participate in receiving regular reiki sessions, regular healing sessions, and often spend quiet mornings alone with spirit and my herbal allies. In addition, I further my spiritual education by attending classes and retreats under the guidance of my teachers.
Learning to navigate being a wife, a mother, and an individual was something that was difficult for me and a balance I had to learn.
This is a more personal aspect I bring into this work, the understanding of how difficult transitions can be and how important maintaining a strong balance between the physical and spiritual worlds actually is.
